Question: How to do Routine safety checking and meintenance of equipment. safe storage of hazardous material ,? How to do Routine safety checking and meintenance of equipment. safe storage of hazardous material and disposal of waste?
Answer: Search the HSE websites with advanced search.

Question: Can someone help me. I want to rack my van with storage equipment. Who do you reccommend? I want to put somethign in their to store my tools and stuff and keep it safe overnight. Is their anyone who does this?
Answer: Monroe trucks does all my van & truck stuff like that.

Question: I am storing my stereo equipment in a storage unit for a unknown amount of time. The unit is not climate? controlled but i do have the eqipment in boxes.Should i trust that the electronic equipment will be ok? I really don't have any choice on storing my stuff and i can't afford a climate controlled unit. Thanks!!!
Answer: Most of the general equipment will be fine. Just be sure the humidity doesn't get too high, and the heat doesn't get outrageous. Most storage warehouses aren't climate controlled, and neither are the trucks that ship the equipment to retailers.
Question: Is card reader is a input device or electronic data storage equipment? Hi guys.... Please tell me the answer...
Answer: A card reader had its hey day in the 1970's.
Essentially, it reads in a deck of cards which were punched with square holes across about 132 columns. The pattern of vertical holes signified the character. So essentually a card could have 132 characters on.
Programmers (in the olden days) would write out sheets of cards which would then be typed up by a punch card operator. The punch card operator would then deliver the 'deck' back to the programmer. The deck could be 12cm deep - sometimes much much more.
The Programmer would then submit the deck of cards to the computer room where the Computer Operators would take the deck of cards and feed them through a card reader which would read about 5 cards a second. The information held on the cards would be loaded into memory and could then be executed by the processor.
Ultimately, these decks could be saved on disk as true programs.
Any Programmer who upset a Computer Operator could expect his deck of cards to be accidentally dropped on the floor. It took ages to sort them back into the correct sequence!!!
Question: What equipment is needed to test pumps, valves, pipelines, and storage tanks? I'm trying to think up a portable failure analysis kit for my class and am wondering what types of equipment I should look at.
Answer: It depends on what tests you wish to run.
Pumps
pressure, capacity,rpm, vibration, temperature, efficiency
Valves
seat or seal tightness, packing, o-rings, gasket tightness, opening/closing force or torque, body integrity
Pipelines
capacity, corrosion, fouling, pressure integrity, weld quality, depth of burial, coating condition, cathodic protection.
Storage tanks
storage capacity, relief capacity, corrosion (internal/external), corrosion protection, instrumentation
Question: bullet and reloading equipment storage? I am moving to a new house and trying to figure out where to store all of my stuff. my guns will be inside but i think i am going to have to put my rounds and reloading equipment in a closet (large walk in) in my garage. I am living in northern VA so there will be fluctuations in the weather. However the garage is insulated and the ammo and brass will be in ammo cans. Will this have any negative effects on the ammo.
Answer: I think that would be alright, as long as they are not actually getting wet. The powder would be what I would worry about the most. Be sure to keep that dry~
Question: Fuel stailizer vs empty fuel tank - Which better for lawn equipment for off-season storage? That could apply to engine of snow blowers too. The manual suggests an empty fuel tank, while fuel stailizer is "acceptable".
I just wonder if having a fuel stabilizer is better for the engine and carb.
Answer: It's always best to follow the manual. You know of course that "empty tank" means run it until it quits because there's no more fuel for it to run on. After it quits from lack of fuel, pull on the starter a couple of times with the choke on and with it off. The objective is not just to empty the tank but dry all fuel out of the carburetor and fuel lines. Fuel left in carbs is the #1 problem caused by improper storage.
Question: would like help in designing a home winery in a 10x12 outside space; floor plan, storage, cabinets, equipment;? Three walls of concrete blocks (no windows); the west wall will be completely made of windows; two doors; both on the nw corner; one to the attached carport the other to the outside. slanted ceiling from a low of 8' to a high of 11'.
Answer: try googling for home winery plans
Question: How can i build a walk in storage area that works like a Faraday Cage, for storing radio equipment from...? Electromagnetic Pulse.
I need one for my shelter to keep electronics undamaged.
Answer: You would need to line the walls, ceiling, and floor with a high-permeability material such as steel. I don't think it need be continous, expanded grate should be okay, as long as a magnet sticks to it. Ground a pair of diagonal corners via copper rod long enough and sunk deep enough to hit moisture, 9 feet in most non-arid areas.
You can't really shield magnetic fields, but the idea here is to provide a high-permeability box that the flux will flow through rather than your equipment. The grounding rods protect from the electric field.
Question: Cheap horse equipment storage? So... Fair is in 2 1/2 weeks! And I'm making my packing lists (for my horse... I'll forget to pack for myself until the night before! Lol). The problem is, I don't think I have enough storage for all my stuff. I have a small tack trunk that I bought from Lowes a few months ago, which is perfect for one-day shows, but it can't hold my saddles.
And I don't have a lot of money to spend.
So, I've been thinking and I'd like to shop around at Walmart or whatever and get cheap storage solutions for my tack and equipment. I'm thinking about a large collapsible round clothes hamper with a lid to keep blankets? And another one for feed? Our 4-H club will have a tack stall, but I'm not sure if it locks or not. If it doesn't, I'll just carry the saddles out to the car every night and hide them under a blanket or something (lol). My tack trunk does lock.
What other affordable storage solutions have you found? I need something cheap that is portable and works. Thanks!
Answer: well the best mobile storage solution that is completly free is grab all your non horsey friends and get them to carry it 4 u especially when there in love with your instructor lol.
I myself got my dad to make a large tack box ( metal sheeting welded together) with only cost about 15e and it locks and all or if that isn't an option for you get some clip shut plastic storage boxes they are ideal for feed and and blankets plus they stack so less space wasted :)
Question: Routine safety checking and maintenance of equipment Safe storage of hazardous materials and disposal of waste health and safety in a child care setting
Answer: I agree with you 100 percent that this should be done but at the same time what do you need.........................
Question: How Can I Storage Chemicals At Home? I am 15 years old and i do Chemistry experiments at home. I would like to know where is a safe place i can storage my equipment and chemicals. Can i put all my chemicals together in a bin and then in my closet. or should they go in the basement.
Thank You!
Answer: That's a really sensible question to ask, and I'm glad you did.
It depends somewhat on what type of chemicals you have on hand. Are any of them volatile? Would any of them react violently if they happened to get mixed together accidentally, like if their containers broke open? Are any of them liquids, or are they all solids? Do any of them really stink?
Best advice I can give you is to take a good look at what you have on hand, and sort them by properties, always thinking about what would happen if... Then find a good, secure place (I would say in your basement somewhere) that you can lock them up away from any inquisitive little fingers that might be around (because for sure some of them are quite poisonous). You don't really want to have your clothes reeking of chemicals all the time (just in case) so your closet is not the best place for them. Best of all if you can find a place that also has some kind of ventilation so any fumes won'y gather in your home and perhaps have some nasty results.
Question: Please reccomend Wireless Network-ready equipment for external storage? I have 3 laptops w/ dsl service, wireless router and modem are in a closet; looking for a simple solution exact brand and model number please. 2 of the 3 computers are near their total memory. Each user has their own librabry of songs, about a total of 2000 songs and several movies, and literally thousands of pictures. Many are duplicated on mulitple computers. Looking for external storage device that I could plug in to a port on my Linksys wireless G router and somehow map it, and be able to click and drag, all pictures, music, videos and otherr files to the one central device. This would free up alot of space on the computers and elimitnate a lot of duplicates.
Answer: this place has almost anything...

If you have an open port you might consider wired for speed purposes.
Question: is it a code violation to have equipment stored in a dedicated electrical distribution room? in a room housing switchgear, xfmr's, and main panels, is it considered a code violation to store equipment for storage? also, is it a code violation for stacked boxes to be covering a small motor control enclosure door?(just 2 motor starters are in it, no controls)
Answer: Article 110-26 of the NEC covers working spaces and spaces about electrical equipment. There has to be a working space for any equipment that has to be maintained, and or worked on.
Equipment can only be serviced by qualified people. Articel 110-26 states that a nominal voltage from 151 trhu 600 volts must have 3 - 4 feet depending on your local code actually. this would include front and sides if not attached or near a wall.
As far as motor controls this is covered in article 384 of the NEC as well. Most of this equipment should be behind a locked door to only qualified people not every one. Motor controls if being used should be in a dedicated area but they are not always because of older building codes.
I would say if you are in a serious situation with this call your local fire marshall they enforce the codes with clearances in this manner.
Question: If you left some buisness equipment at a location with there permission, can they charge storage? They did not notify me that they were going to charge storage. I am in the automobile buisness and I have to by law notify you when I will start charging storage charges before I can charge. Georgia
Answer: its not ethical but save the attorney fees and pay then after sue for the money back in small claims
Question: What's the best way to convert a Toyota Hiace Van into a simple camper, just a bed and storage needed really? Pretty hard question to answer briefly I know but just wondering if anyone has experience converting a Hiace van into a camper?? All we really need is a bed that can be folded away and storage space for camping equipment. Cheers in advance.
Answer: I have done this sort of thing to a couple of pickup trucks with caps . Try to find something to be able to have a little heat for those cool mornings . and a separate radio and speaker system or run a power wire to where you are going to sleep and put a toggle switch on it and run it to the existing radio so you can turn it on and off after you switch off the ignition and go to bed.A reading lamp doesn't hurt either.
Question: Who is the most appropriate person, organisation, or business to provide advice on the handling and storage of? I'm doing an assignment for care of computer hardware. I have a question that states exactly:
"Who is the most appropriate person, organisation, or business to provide advice on the handling and storage of equipment?"
I have NO idea what they're talking about, can anyone help?
To bon-gart since i'm not 'level 2'
THANKS HEAPS!
Yeh i guess i had some idea haha
Thanks again! =]
Answer: You have NO idea what they are talking about? None at all? You don't get it that they are talking about storing computer equipment? Like... STORING computer equipment... for example, a business is going to open in 6 months, and they purchase their computer equipment early on... but they won't have their office built and ready for 6 months... so where do they put it? You have a few computers in your house, and you have to go overseas for two years due to your job, and you need to know if putting those computers in a u-haul storage facility is a good idea.
Storing computers.
So, you ask yourself questions now. Like... Hmm.... who stores a lot of computers? Dell does. HP does. They would be manufacturers. They store computers long term and short term. So... computer manufacturering companies would have a good idea how to store computer equipment. Who else stores computers? Best Buy does... Walmart does. They would be retailers with warehouses. They have to be following some kind of guideline to ensure that the computer equipment they store doesn't get ruined. Granted, that's short term, since long term storage for a retailer, means rolling stock that isn't rolling.
Now... Google can be your friend here... because it can help you find specific companies that specialize in moving and storing computer and electronic equipment. http://itmass.com/ is one such company. But, Google will also show you that there are not many companies specializing in this kind of storage.
So, the most appropriate business to provide advice on the handling and storage of computer equipment, is the equipment manufacturer.
end of line

Question: Computer geeks, What piece of equipment is necessary to network computers together for a large corporation? I have an assignment for school to explain basic computer terms to a CEO of a fictitious small rural hospital, and recommend a system for the hospital In my paper I have made the point that we should network our computers to a bigger hospital, since our small hospital does not have the space or resources to house data storage. What piece of equipment do I suggest in my paper that would allow our computers to network to the bigger hospital's? I have come across networking switches, but do we need a networking switch on every computer that we want to network? My professor suggested a dumb terminal, but I don't know which computers would be dumb and which ones wouldn't. HELP!?
Answer: For your problem dumb terminals are, quite frankly, a dumb idea.
What you need is a router. Preferably one designed to host a "router to router" VPN (virtual private network). You cable your local computers to the router (add a switch only if the router doesn't have enough ports to cable all your computers). The router connects through the internet to a router at the larger hospital, which has a server, data storage and all the other "bells and whistles".
The VPN creates a "virtual" network, linking all your computers to those at the bigger hospital. The computers at either end of the VPN literally can't tell whether they're in the next room, or across the country. As far as the computers are concerned, they're all right next door to each other.
This way your computers can access all of the resources of the larger hospital, just as if they were located in the same building. The VPN also creates it's own secure "tunnel", so the information is very difficult to hack into from outside.
A router to router VPN is simple to set up, easy to maintain, and is the classic answer to this issue.
